IT Support Analyst - Edinburgh

Are you looking for a great entry level IT Support Analyst role with a company that will offer life ling training?

The role:

My client is looking for a recent technology Graduate or candidate with 1-2 years’ experience working in a customer service focussed 1st/2nd Line IT Support Analyst role.

Training and personal development are a big part of the culture at this organisation. They will look to put you through CCNA and MCP certification if you don’t already have them!

Your focus will be to provide high class technical support to users including server checks, user administration (including new starter setup, systems overview, changes and leavers), resolving issues and supporting a wide range of hardware and software, maintaining PC’s, laptops, mobile tablets plus much more.

This is a small team providing mainly phone and remote support to c300 users throughout the UK. There will be occasional travel and candidates will need a full UK drivers licence and preferably your own transport.

The skills:

You will have strong communication skills and take a logical approach to solving problems. Ideally you’ll also have an inquisitive nature and be keen to identify the root cause of any issue.

It’s vital that you can explain technology to people in very basic terms, as some of the users that you will be supporting have a very basic understanding of technology.

You will enjoy providing professional and timely technical support and be capable of juggling multiple and often conflicting requirements. You will know when to escalate issues that you are not equipped to resolve, but equally will have every opportunity to grow and build your responsibilities in this small team!

Skills and knowledge;

Ideally some service desk technical support experience

Windows 7, MS Outlook 2007 - 2013 (using Exchange Server) and database systems in a network environment

Good skills with Microsoft Office 2007, any experience with 2013 will be a significant advantage

Strong knowledge of how to set up and resolve hardware and software issues (e.g. PC, Printer, iOS …)

Experience liaising with 3rd party suppliers
