This Edinburgh city centre school is looking for a skilled Infrastructure Manager to join their busy ICT Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, installation, maintenance, availability and security of the schools network, hardware and software in order to provide first class support for the academic and curricular needs of the School.

Key duties will include:

- To design, configure, optimise, monitor and maintain the School's LAN and WANs,

- To effectively implement and manage, as required, the delivery of ICT Infrastructure projects based on a broad and detailed knowledge of the current and emerging technologies (programme management)

- To develop hardware, software and network solutions throughout the school, to meet curriculum and administrative needs.

- To ensure the integrity of the School's electronically held information by performing regular reviews and testing of the back-up systems, disaster recovery planning and input into the Business Continuity plan where appropriate

- To deputise for the Head of ICT as required in managing the School's ICT staff, including training, coaching and appraisal.

- To provide support and guidance to staff in the use of ICT and provide feedback using specialist skills/training/experience.

- To prepare and provide staff training on a wide range of applications used in school.

- To support and monitor the schools Helpdesk Management System

You will have a related qualification such as MCSA/MCSE and demonstrable experience of their practical application. It is essential that you have project management experience, the ability to discuss technical matters with non-technical staff and have a willingness to continually develop your own IT and business experience. You will be highly organised and self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision. Experience in an academic environment would be advantageous.

This is a permanent position with average working hours of 40 per week.
