IT Procurement Manager

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an IT Procurement Manager to join the biggest light commercial vehicle rental provider in the UK. The role will be based at Northgate's Head Office in Darlington with possible travel to other locations based on project requirements due to Northgate's growing network of more than 75 branches.

The key responsibilities & accountabilities of this role will include:

* To review expenditure, identify cost reduction opportunities and delivery savings through the appropriate methodology: tendering, negotiation, upplier management, service enhancement, internal controls etc.

* Run RFP/tender processes, analyse responses, include stakeholders, submit cost proposals and transition suppliers

* To find and implement cost effective strategies for improving supplier services, and respond to business needs by identifying the best supply/supplier options

* Develop category product and service expertise through market research and internal analysis, to optimise products and services utilised within the business

* Develop and implement category plans/strategies with internal management that ensure IT goods and services provide the best longterm value for Northgate

* Research, advise and execute the appropriate commercial strategy to ensure that all goods and services are appropriately procured in line with the best practise and needs of the business

Releveant Skills and Experience required:

* 3+ Years relevant procurement experience

* Previous experience applying category management to IT goods and services

* Ability to use project plans and strategies to plan and organise business activity with a track record of savings achievement

* A working legal knowledge of supply contracts

* IT skills and a confident, regular user of MS Excel

* Ambitious and tenacious personality with the ability to influence and persuade effectively

* An all round team player with a 'can do' attitude who can be flexible and offer effective support to colleages

Desirable Skills and Experience:

* 5 Years procurement experience

* Knowledge and experience of the vehicle supply or vehicle services industry

* Ability to challenge the status quo
