2nd Line Network Support

Job Purpose

We have an excellent opportunity for you to join one of the worlds largest telecommunications provider as a 2nd Line Network Support Engineer.

As skilled 2nd Line network support team member you will be responsible for not only the support to the end client onsite but also have the opportunity to be part of deployment projects when required however the nature of the role is heavily BAU maintenance of the customer network.

Based on site in Milton Keynes you will work on a continental shift pattern of 4 days on (12 hours) and 4 days off. Due to the nature of the role and end client (financial services) this team operates 24/7, 365 days a year.

As an Employed Consultant (EC) with Experis we will also offer you the chance long term to develop your skills with tailored training plans teamed with the opportunity to work across a spectrum of blue/chip UK based companies.

Responsibilities

* To ensure a first class network support service is delivered

* Work proactively within the team of 5, 2nd Line network support engineers to meet Support function needs onsite

* Communicate effectively across the teams onsite and undertake support functions as required

Technical Specification

Skills, knowledge and attributes

* You will have a proven background working within a 2nd Line Network Support Function

* Excellent commercial experience with Data Networking, LAN/WAN Ethernet, TCP/IP

* Excellent commercial experience with Router/Switcher Operation, Diagnostics and Configuration

* Strong VOIP (VoiceOver IP) and Call centre technology Cisco and/or Avaya/IVR

* Excellent interpersonal skills

* Exception attention to detail

It is also highly desirable that you also posses or have awareness within the following areas;

* Network Operations

* Load Balancing (F5/Alteon)

* Firewalls (Nokia/Juniper/ASA)

* CA Spectrum, Ehealth, NetQos

Qualifications

* Cisco CCNA accreditation or equivalent experience
