Enigma People Solutions has an exciting opportunity for Graduates & Junior Web Developers in Edinburgh working for a major client in the Tourism sector. The Junior Web Designer role is one of the creative roles within the Design team of the Digital Development & Delivery department.

This is a hands-on and varied role that provides crucial support to an existing portfolio of websites and applications as well as playing a key part in the creative phase of new digital projects. The role is responsible for communicating and delivering design solutions within the department and across the business as a whole.

Responsibilities:

1. Creation of digital graphics for web & mobile layouts, applications, templates and assets supporting a range of projects and Business-As-Usual activity

2. Supporting the daily design-centric helpdesk activity within the department to meet stakeholder requirements, providing status updates to the Studio Manager and other members of the ‘Planning and Delivery’ team as appropriate.

3. Designing emails, infographics, banners, adverts and interactive content in support of a range of projects, initiatives and strategies

4. Designing and communicating concepts, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes, to ensure internal stakeholders are fully appraised of the creative direction that has been taken against a brief

5. Ensuring adherence to brand and campaign design guidelines

6. Contributing to team meetings, creative development sessions and design reviews as outlined by the Design Lead

Knowledge/Skills and Experience

                                         A good understanding of graphic design principles and web design best practises

                                         A good understanding of current UX / UI best practices

                                         Experience in the creation of wireframes, prototypes and mock-ups

                                         Excellent working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of applications in particular Photoshop and Illustrator

                                         Experience of mobile website and application design for both smartphone and tablet

                                         Experience of Responsive Web Design

                                         A good understanding of the limitations of HTML email design & delivery

                                         An understanding of modern web languages including HTML 5, CSS 3 and JavaScript / JQuery

Desirable:

                                         Adobe Flash timeline animation

                                         Offline and print design experience

                                         Experience of front-end web development principles and ability to write and debug HTML & CSS

                                         Experience of email marketing

                                         Experience of enterprise Content Management Systems

                                         Ability to communicate design methodologies and concepts to a non-technical audience
