The Data & Business Analyst role is a key role within the department involved in scoping, planning and delivery of web and digital projects within the digital program of work developing and maintaining our client’s digital platforms.
The role will focus on liaising with project stakeholders and colleagues within the digital delivery teams to assess project briefs and requirements, understand feasibility, document the specification and work with the Digital Delivery Manager and Studio Manager to get the work planned into the schedule.
The role will also look at analysing and preparing various data sets for application databases that underpin our client’s website and subsystems. Part of the focus will be on maintaining existing data and working with other teams to develop new data types and sources. This role will also contribute to future projects which will enhance the current websites and supporting platforms.
The Data & Business Analyst will be responsible for defining, overseeing and executing data management processes, and advising on data aspects of current and future project briefs, refining processes that support data quality, as required, and collaboratively working with other areas of the business to improve data held by our Client.
Knowledge/Skills and Experience
Technical
Excellent knowledge and understanding of data collection approaches, analysis and techniques
Excellent ability to categorise data and identify trends
Demonstrable logical approach and excellent attention to detail
Good understanding of SQL and tools for interrogating database systems
Good understanding and experience of web systems and services
Exposure to XML as a means of describing complex data structures would be advantageous
Soft skills
Excellent communication skills, ability to interact and negotiate with staff across the organisation.
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
Ability to present information in a meaningful and relevant manner
Good track record of documenting and reporting findings
Document data requirements in technical specification documents to ensure there is formal documentation governing what is being created and delivered.
Ability to initiate and lead projects
