Lead Technical Housing IT Officer - South East London - £125pd

To provide and ensure delivery of technical IT support for the Housing Department. To lead and manage technical IT staff engaged in design, administration, support & development of a number of complex and diverse Business systems and associated IT procurements. To work with key managers in the business to develop IT solutions to meet key business priorities and customer needs. To identify, validate and deliver IT solutions to support the needs of the housing service. To manage the hardware that supports the Application used by the Housing Service. Manage a team of up to 6 people and consultants / contractors.

Experience required:

* 2 years proven experience of managing and supporting staff. A good standard of secondary education Proven Experience of reconciling financial Information Proven ability to use Oracle PL/SQL, Unix scripts

Main Duties:

1 To be the senior technical resource within the Housing IT Unit and to ensure delivery of technical solutions that respond to the needs of the business.

2 To create scripts, bespoke work, interfaces, reports and processes using Oracle PL/SQL, Unix scripting and CRON job management, SQL, RTF, File Transfer protocols, Windows Visual Basic and Shell scripts.

3 To procure IT services, applications and equipment; drawing up contracts, managing the tender process and appointing and managing contractors. Ensure procurement procedures are followed.

4 To provide cover within the Housing IT Unit, support other IT projects as required and undertake any other work appropriate to the level of the post.

5 To lead and manage a team of staff engaged in system design, development, administration, security and integrity of data and the smooth day to day operation of systems.

This includes but is not exclusively:* The development of bespoke applications, processes, interfaces, reports and scripts. * Identifying, Implementing and upgrading IT solutions for the Housing Department. * Providing IT training on Housing Systems * The provision of information / reports from systems using SQL and other reporting tools
