Engineer

* Project Management, Implementation, Management and Maintenance, SDI Baseband infrastructure, DVB Compression Platforms, RF Transmission systems (Satellite Earth Stations), Associated Telecoms links (ex. Nimbra), IP Network infrastructure.

Engineer Responsibilities

* End to End Testing of New Projects being delivered into the Operational environment

* SDI Infrastructure - Maintenance & System Resource Management

* DVB Compression platform maintenance and administration

* Implementation of new Video and Audio channels

* Infrastructure integration - SDI, ASI to Fibre converter systems

* Input into Bid preparation, to facilitate the generation of cost effective bids

* Engineering interpretation of customer requirements to ensure fully customer compliant solutions to customer requests and to help set customer expectations

* Providing Out of Hours Engineering support for client Satellite & Media Services as part of an On-Call rota

* Carry out Preventative Maintenance Activities within the Satellite & Media Estate. Ensure these are understood, captured and carried out efficiently

* Customer, Supplier and Contractor liaison

* Fault investigation, rectification and reporting

* System documentation maintenance of Drawings, Wiring schedules and Asset register - Visio

* Project Management - Managing small projects where the need for an external project manager is not needed. Reporting progress to line-manager and liaising between operations and the customer Hardware and System Integration

* As part of the Engineering Services Team, ongoing development of the Knowledge and Skills required to manage Live Operational Faults in Baseband, IP, RF, Telecoms and Site Infrastructure environments in the Crawley Satellite and Media Estate (Crawley & Morn Hill Teleports, & Crawley Data Centre)

* Promote an effective Safety, Health and Environment culture, to ensure a safe and healthy working environment within area of operation

* Maintain a secure working environment in line with the requirements of the client Security Policy in order to protect individuals, information and client assets

Engineer Essential

* HND or equivalent technical qualification is the basic qualification - This could be mitigated by relevant experience.

* Proven competence in similar industry

* Familiarity with Data, Video, audio and IT cabling systems

* Proven ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
