Coventry University is The Times and Sunday Times Modern University of the Year for the second year running (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2015). As one of the UK’s leading recruiters of international students, with more than 6,000 students from over 130 different countries, we have a firm commitment to internationalisation, built on innovation and enterprise. Our planned investment in teaching, research and in our facilities will place us in a strong position for international development and we are now looking for an enthusiastic and experience project manager to join us on our journey.

Working closely with the Director and Deputy Director of the International Office, you will be responsible for development, implementation and operationalization of projects that contribute to the University’s international development in line with its corporate objectives. Leading on strategically important projects, you will work closely with teams in subsidiary offices overseas as well as in the UK, collaborating with a variety of stakeholders to ensure that the resources, finance and process are managed effectively, ready for handover for our ongoing business teams. Your experience of working in a project management role, preferably with Prince2, LEAN, Six Sigma or equivalent will mean you are well placed to ensure the effective planning and governance are in place and that robust management frameworks are established.

In particular, you will be responsible for the development of the Resources strategy with a focus on this driving the growth plans of the University, so experience of working in an international HE environment would be advantageous. Your communication and negotiation skills will help to develop buy in from key stakeholders within the University and you will ideally have some experience of change management.

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will need to have excellent presentation and written communications skills as you will be producing a variety of project reports. You will be confident and experienced in budget management and will be able to manage third party suppliers to ensure objectives are delivered on time and on budget. A willingness to travel overseas is a must in this role.
