Web Developer / JavaScript Programmer / Polyglot (Python JavaScript Data UNIX Web). Global finance firm is seeking a passionate Web Developer with a broad range of technical skills, including strong JavaScript and Python skills. You will use a variety of languages and techniques to develop real-time systems, working with a high degree of autonomy.
As a Web Developer, you will join an Agile (TDD) team building a completely new architecture for the automated acquisition and real-time presentation of vast quantities of data for 315,000 internal users worldwide. The platform is high speed and scalable; based on a mix of dynamic languages, OOP and functional programming using large distributed computing systems.
This R&D type environment based in the City encourages innovation and you will have the freedom to suggest improvements and explore new ideas.
Requirements:
Strong JavaScript and Python skills
Excellent programming skills with exposure to a range of languages
Passion for technology and keeping up to date with the latest innovations, able to incorporate into a real world setting
Thorough understanding of Computing fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, software design)
Good knowledge of large scale system design, understanding of what is involved in software architecture required to continually process petabytes of data
Desirable: NoSQL databases, statistical analysis, machine learning methods
