End to End Test Specialist - JavaScript, Java, Unix, SQL, XML, HTML, Mobile, Network

Fantastic Opportunity for an experienced End to End Test Specialist to join one of the world's leading Media and Broadcast giants.

Frequent travel will be required between Slough, Braham Street and Osterley client sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Test

* To liaise and communicate with the full suite of colleagues representing all partner teams.

* To understand Business requirements and identify optimum test approach.

* To create and execute high quality test cases.

* To ensure that defects are reported, escalated and resolved appropriately.

* To ensure the delivery of high quality software releases on time.

* To proactively identify and define opportunities for improvement to processes and methodology.

* To engage with projects in early phases to ensure alignment with the overall release plan. Building relationships with third parties if required.

* To actively seek to broaden own technical knowledge in each technology domain; also to share knowledge with other colleagues.

During Development

* Build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues in Development, Business Analysis and Support to ensure effective team-working and exchange of information throughout the SDLC.

* Engage early in the project process in order to help ensure quality delivery.

* Highlight and escalate potential risks and issues observed during development.

* Provide test insight and advice during the SDLC.

* Ensure impact on Test is assessed, communicated and understood with relevant colleagues.

Operational Support

* Engage support team to ensure common understanding of impact of quality issues.

* Review bugs that come through triage; participate in root cause analysis review taking steps to improve test approach going forward.

Candidate Specification

Qualifications

* Degree or equivalent in relevant/related subject or SEB/ISTQB qualification

Specialist Knowledge

* Understanding of the SDLC and the role of Testing therein.

* Review of requirements and creation of Test cases.

* Strong capability in the execution of Test cases, management of bugs and Test reporting in accordance with an established process/methodology.

* Demonstrable good level of technical knowledge across a given technical domain.

* Familiar with integration testing and system testing and E2E testing -

* Familiarity with iterative development - DESIRABLE

* Testing in an iterative/agile technology environment. - DESIRABLE

* Test automation skills. - DESIRABLE

Industry Experience

* Extensive experience of testing network and OSS elements within the mobile telephony industry including:

- Generation of voice and data traffic over 2G,3G,4G and wifi.

- Mediation and billing/reconciliation for both national and international traffic

- AAA, data warehouse, network fault management and assurance

* Defect management of CN and OSS defects with in-depth knowledge of all network components (HLR, SMSC, MMSC etc)

* Good experience of testing in a complex and demanding technology environment.

* Demonstrable experience working closely with partner teams including Business requirements, Development and Operational support teams.

Desirable

* Broadband and/or ISP industry experience.

* Experience of testing BSS elements within the mobile telephony industry including:

- Sales via online portals

- In-life management of services, upgrades, downgrades, cease, restrict and re-instate

- Supply chain and equipment management

Technical Skills

* Java

* N-Tier Application experience. - DESIRABLE

* Junit and selenium - DESIRABLE
