A rare opportunity has become available to join the most high-profile and visible team within a global FS organisation in Glasgow city centre. This is a hugely exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join a small, collaborative and passionate team who are working on the development and delivery of commercial solutions which will be utilised by the organisation globally.

The Senior Software Engineer will be given the opportunity to develop a strategic product from a very early stage of the lifecycle, therefore design skills will be put to the test as much as coding. The Senior Software Engineer will be given the challenge of delivering a product visible to the highest levels within the organisation, and presents the opportunity for rapid progression into a leadership role. The team is currently working with Tim Berners-Lee's next generation web standards, and the Senior Software Engineer will have the opportunity to work with many new, pioneering technologies which are not yet mature.

To be successful within this specific role and team, the Senior Software Engineer will need the following skills, qualities and experience:

Confidence with Core Java and either REST/http based protocols or Java EE

Test Driven Development skills

Exposure to/competence with Agile Development approach

Solid experience utilising Source code control software, for example Clearcase, Subversion, Git

Naturally inquisitive and passionate about exploring and learning leftfield technologies

Ability to self-manage but work collaboratively and inclusively, with a commitment to ongoing learning and development
