A global technology Centre of Excellence based in Glasgow city centre is currently recruiting for an Oracle DBA (SQL/Data Modeler) to join a dynamic team on a permanent basis.

The successful Oracle DBA (SQL/Data Modeler) will participate in building and implementing the data model and maintain the stability of the database environments. In addition, the successful candidate will participate in architecture and design sessions.

The Oracle DBA will assist in troubleshooting and impact analysis, and tune all Oracle instance components including SQL, P/SQL, Java DB objects and Cache objects. Working collaboratively within the team to co-ordinate DB related activities required with the company Infrastructure DBA is another key part of the role.

To be successful within the role of Oracle DBA (SQL/Data Modeler), our client would like you to have the following:

Strong experience of using Erwin or equivalent data modeling tool

Strong hands-on experience as an Application DBA using Oracle 11g or higher

Excellent data modeling skills and data integration experience

Extensive experience in SQL writing and application tuning exercises alongside the Development team

Experience in Unix or Linux and shell scripting

Self motivated, driven individual with strong leadership qualities
