The Market Leading Retail Client that I am working with is looking for a Business Solutions Manager to join their organisation at an exciting time!

The Purpose of the role:

* To own the relationship between the designated business unit and IT, delivering close alignment between the teams to add value to the organisation

* To work closely with the business and IT teams to ensure that the designated business unit has an IT strategy, a business unit operating plan, business/IT programmes supported by business cases and an effective and efficient IT support team

* To ensure that all projects undertaken have robust and trackable benefits and support the business to track and measure these benefits

* To provide input and advice on the strategic direction of IT in the business unit alongside Strategy and Architecture helping the business to understand the capability of IT and how it can support new ways of working

* To co-ordinate activities and dependencies for a single programme or large project ensuring the delivery is integrated and comes together at the right time to deliver agreed requirements

* To monitor and report on the progress of programme delivery, proactively addressing escalated risks and issues that impact delivery, feeding into a central view of risks and issues across the leadership stream, keeping the relevant stakeholders updated

To make suggestions and recommendations and deliver ongoing efficiencies and improvements across the Business Solutions stream

Experience Required:

* In depth IT management skills with experience of operating at a senior management level in a major IT department

* Experience of driving a major IT programme, including building a strong connection with the business, achieving project success and delivering measurable benefits and business growth

* Excellent project and programme management and analytical skills and proven experience of managing a portfolio of projects and associated service delivery

* Strong experience of managing the project delivery of systems/application projects across a range of technologies, platforms and business areas - estimating, planning, resourcing, tracking, risk, issue and change management

* Experience of a major Change Programme/Initiative and clear understanding of the approach required to ensure business change is successfully managed and implemented

* Able to demonstrate an innovative approach to improving timelines, quality and efficiency of systems development projects and portfolios

* Strong commercial management experience - experience of negotiating commercial and contractual terms with suppliers, knowledge of different contracting, payment and penalty constructs, experience of managing suppliers within a commercial framework to extract maximum value for money

* Proven experience of developing an IT Strategy for a substantive business (preferably Retail, FMCG or related sector)

* Good general understanding of application development, infrastructure & technology, together with process and data experience
