To own and maintain the testing resource plan for all current and scheduled software projects to ensure that testing workload is estimated, and resources are allocated and available when required. To source, select and manage partnerships with third party testing companies who can support the outsourcing of testing activities, where appropriate. To manage, coach and support the software testing function in best practice and high quality delivery. To own the IT strategy for automated testing.

* Proactively building a network of contacts within the software testing industry (e.g. test contractors, specialist recruitment agencies and third party testing partners).

* Directly line-manage the permanent Test Analysts in the Project Delivery Team.

* Recruiting new permanent and contract Test Analysts.

* Mentoring and developing all Test Analysts on the team, permanent and contract, by proving guidance based on previous experience and knowledge of best practice guidelines.

* Responsible for the processes, document templates and software tools used within the Testing Stage of the overall IT Project Process. Developing and maintaining test strategies, test plans and other test artifacts & deliverables such as test environments, test scenarios, test scripts, traceability matrices, test execution schedules, defect reports, test summary reports as per the project requirements.

* Ensuring all Test Analysts receive training in the IT Project Process and understand how it affects their tasks on a project.

* Acting as a 'champion' for IT Project Process both internally within IT Team and externally with business stakeholders and third party software partners.

* Sourcing, selecting and managing the relationships with strategic software testing partners (e.g. testing outsourcers and specialist recruitment agencies).

* Owning and maintain the testing resource plan for all current and scheduled software projects to ensure that testing workload is estimated, allocated and available when required.

* Measuring and monitoring progress to ensure test delivery is on time, within budget and to an agreed level of quality.

* Acting in a quality assurance capacity for work output by the Test Analyst Team, ensuring that software changes/projects are tested thoroughly before deployment.

* Assisting the Head of Project Delivery and/or Project Manager in the resource estimation for new projects and programmes.

* Owning the IT strategy for automated testing.

* Suggest test process improvements based on previous experience and incident trends.

Experience Required:

* Six or more years experience testing software applications, with at least three as a Test Manager.

* Line management of a team of 10 or more Test Analysts.

* Experience defining and implementing a company strategy for software testing.

* Experience setting up new relationships with third party software companies and managing the relationship ongoing, on a day-to-day basis.

* Experience coaching less experienced test analysts.

* Experience managing the testing resources on a large scale software project with overall accountability for the on time, on budget and to quality test delivery.

* Experience working in a fast paced and growing organisation (highly desirable)

* Experience working with Hybris and/or MS Dynamics NAV software packages (highly desirable)
