The Role:

Skyscape work with a number of exciting and often cutting-edge technologies in a fast-moving environment.

Our monitoring engineers are responsible for the tools and systems that monitor individual infrastructure and application components, giving the business essential insight to how service stacks or solutions are operating.

Great intelligence about the platform allows accurate and prompt action so as a monitoring engineer you will need to actively engage with all areas of the business to develop and provide this insight as a real value-add service.

Key Responsibilities:

- Continual improvement of the capability and accuracy of individual / stack monitors

- Implementation of infrastructure monitoring and management tools

- Creation of management-information / reporting / dashboards

- Product / solution evaluation and selection for the monitoring platform

- Service management and support of the monitoring platform

Skills and Experience:

- Strong understanding of core infra technologies, e.g. Servers esp. Linux, Networks & Storage

- Exposure to monitoring / operational support environments, ideally large scale

- Curious, tenacious nature, not defeated by technical challenges

- Creation of dashboards / reports, ideally can demonstrate custom/aggregated examples

- Demonstrable experience in scripting languages including Python or Ruby

- Truly at home managing infrastructure at a console / API level
