PPD is a 300-strong centre of excellence. We have 80 showcase projects currently live - all part of a 10-year, £4 billion investment in the capital’s surface transport system. Everything from the £1 billion Silvertown Tunnel to the £200m cycle superhighways, to the £75m re-letting of the Congestion Charge contract the £75m Hammersmith Flyover refurbishment.
We are now looking for talented, experienced Assistant Project Managers to join our team. You will be responsible for:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a good knowledge and understanding of project Management methodologies. You will be responsible for identifying emerging issues, providing recommendations and escalating to the Project Manager for potential courses of action as appropriate. As part of a matrix PPD team, you will support Project Managers in the delivery of projects and programmes within a portfolio and in the implementation of project governance, reporting and controls tools and processes, in line with Portfolio Office guidance. You will deputise for the Project Manager as required, ensuring project and resource plans are managed and will monitor delivery against the agreed plan.
You will need:
Experience of working in complex multi-functional and matrix environments as well as working in high pressure teams, delivering to time, budget and at the highest quality. Knowledge and experience of highway infrastructure projects at design and/or delivery stages, and exposure to working on road and/or structures projects in complex urban environments (in London or environments similar to London). Ideally you will have a professional qualification in Project Management, e.g PRINCE2, APMP, a recognised qualification in civil engineering or construction with a road/bridge infrastructure bias. Preferably to Higher National Diploma (HND), Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE) or Batchelor of Science (BSc) standard, or equivalent.
