Reporting to the IT Change Delivery Manager, the IT Development Manager will manage System Development across multiple core operational systems delivering on time, to budget and good quality, contributing to the delivery of the IT Strategy and growth of the IPF business.

Reporting to the IT Change Delivery Manager, the IT Development Manager will manage System Development across multiple core operational systems delivering on time, to budget and good quality, contributing to the delivery of the IT Strategy and growth of the IPF business.

Key role responsibilities of the IT Development Manager are to…

- lead and inspire high performance within the supplier development teams, ensuring appropriate resource is in place to effectively deliver tasks and outcomes

- initiate, lead and communicate the development of multiple projects - building and enhancing the company’s information systems and processes in our international markets

- co-ordinate activities with in-country IT and business teams to prepare them and their users for change

- drive continuous improvement, ensuring development processes are continually developed to improve programme delivery as well as defining and measuring supplier performance information

- ensure development is aligned with our IT strategy and other business initiatives

- provide strategic, expert advice and consultation on the development and implementation of effective IT solutions

- own software lifecycle release maps and provide central coordination across all change groups

- secure funding for project budgets and developments part of the wider programme

- obtain guidance and approval as required to advance activities and resolve issues

- challenge supplier estimates to ensure the best value for money is spent externally, seeking cost effective solutions to problems

To apply for the IT Development Manager role, you will…

- be Degree qualified (2:2 or above), or equivalent

- ideally hold a Prince 2/Agile PM or similar accreditation

- have experience in key system development roles

- be experienced in leading large-scale, complex IT change, ideally operating in an international environment

- be proficient in desktop tools appropriate to the role

- hold a strong knowledge for Systems Development principles, practices, techniques and tools e.g. continuous integration and build, automated unit testing, Microsoft TFS, DevOps etc.

- understand proficiently, all phases of the project lifecycle

- have a modern knowledge of the IT industry and its ways of working, ideally within the financial services

- have managed external supplier activity, including off-shore

- have experience in managing teams

- be willing to travel overseas frequently (up to 40%)
