Embedded Software Test Engineer - Edinburgh

An established company whose technology can be found in many of the world's leading digital consumer products are looking for an experienced Software Test Engineer to demolish the reputations of software development teams across the company - in a friendly fashion.

The ideal test engineer will be experienced and knowledgeable about working with distributed embedded systems, hardware connections and workstation user interfaces. You will be able to develop tests for the software, firmware and hardware systems, most testing will be automated. The ideal engineer is a software test developer whose goal is to prove that the software system is bullet-proof and meets requirements.

The successful Software Test Engineer will have the following:

*A good degree in a relevant field of study

*Relevant experience designing and running tests

*Experience with embedded systems and the software running in them

*Experience in one or more programming language - C, C++, C#, Java

*Experience in one or more scripting language - Tcl, Python, Perl, Ruby

*Experience with user interface standards

*Familiarity with Software QA methodologies, defect reporting/tracking systems and general software testing principles
