Project Manager - Telecoms - up to 55k

Better People Ltd are working with a fast growing business with head offices in Abingdon to source dynamic and highly motivated individuals to join their growing Project Management team.

This company is delivering the highest quality, fastest, most reliable broadband available and are taking that to rural communities not serviced by other providers.

The project build process is choreographed by the Project Manager through close liaison with the pre-planning, design and marketing teams.

The Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of the projects assigned to them, from resource planning, materials procurement; budget management forecasting, reporting, process design, working with the community and local authority, inventory management and communication to the business and community.

The Project Manager reports to the Head of Projects, who leads each of the delivery teams and provides a conduit with the rest of the business along with support for the Operations Director.

Knowledge and Skills

                                                                                                                         Business / commercial mind-set

                                                                                                                         Prince2 methodology and or more than 5 years exp in Project Management

                                                                                                                         Experience in telecoms, civil engineering or a similar utility delivery program

                                                                                                                         Communication skills - public and internal

                                                                                                                         Business / commercial mind-set

                                                                                                                         Driven and passionate about delivering projects on time and to budget

                                                                                                                         Dynamic and motivating leadership style

                                                                                                                         Personally Effective:

                                                                                                                         Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise

                                                                                                                         Ability to manage and influence colleagues, contractors and suppliers towards continuous improvement

                                                                                                                         Ability to ensure that the highest standards of quality and delivery are achieved

                                                                                                                         Strong relationship builder with a pragmatic approach

The ideal candidate:

                                                                                                                         Will have worked in telecoms project management in the past and be able to demonstrate personal effectiveness and ability to positively influence others.

                                                                                                                         Will have the ability to quickly and easily plan, coordinate and communicate the on-going build plan with those involved in the process and across the business effectively and confidently

                                                                                                                         Will have the credibility, gravitas, confidence and the ability to persuade will be paramount to the success in this role

                                                                                                                         Will be commercially aware

                                                                                                                         Will be used to/prepared to work in a" new" process environment where challenge and change of status quo is encouraged in everyone.

                                                                                                                         Able to thrive under pressure and ever changing priorities and deadlines
