An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Programme Manager based in in Leicester for a client of mine.

The role involves managing the delivery of IT and/or Business projects as directed by the Head of IT Programmes.

In addition this position will act as part of the senior management team, reporting into the Head of IT Programmes and helping to devise and deliver the departments overall strategy in the short and long term. The role will be expected to liaise with the PMO Manager, other Programme Managers and the QA Test Manager to ensure that projects are delivered to the highest standards.

The department's activities are focused around the delivery of IT projects into the business by providing the best service that we can to our customers.

The successful Programme Manager must have: -

* Over 10 years' experience as a senior level Project/ Programme manager, with a proven track record of delivering high profile projects and programmes.

* 5 or more years of experience within the retail environment.

* Have managed teams of people, and can demonstrate people management skills.

* Has the formal MSP or Prince 2 qualifications

* Expectations - manages management and delivery expectations to ensure project success

* Proven track record in successfully managing IT related projects

* Demonstrable experience in the following:

* IT project lifecycle principles

* Retail systems project delivery

* Understanding of operational Business Processes

* Project planning using MS Project or equivalent software

* Writing business and IT reports and presentations

* Package selection and implementation
