We are looking for an Application Service Delivery Markets to join our Tradeplant team that supports the Asset Management Services business. If you have experience within application support on the Trade Floor, that could be the next step of you career at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Our Tradeplant team consists of 10 members who look after approximately 25 applications; both front end GUIs and server side processes. As an Application Service Delivery Markets you will have direct interaction with the front office business users in London as well as you will be working with Tradeplant production support teams in the US and APAC to drive operational consistency across the globe. You will interface with the Integration team for new application on-boarding and with internal IT teams (development and infrastructure) to ensure application stability and reliability.

Application Service Delivery Markets will be responsible for support of applications for the Asset Management Services business in EMEA region and will also need to coordinate activities with the Production Support and Infrastructure teams in the other regions, so the successful candidate needs to be hands-on and able to perform within a busy and pressurised environment.

As an Application Service Delivery Markets your main responsibilities will involve:

First, second and third line support

Being responsible for Linux, Unix and Windows based applications

On-going maintenance, release and deployments on all applications

Navigating a large organization and being able to effectively work with a variety of different teams across the bank

Maintaining issue documentation/logging for analysis in an effort to identify trends and chronic issues

Managing, documentation and communication outages to both business and technology stakeholders as well as follow up on all fronts needing attention to eliminate repeat occurrences

Being responsible for managing Business Continuity Planning (ensure all hardware in both Production and Non- production sites are inline from both a hardware and software perspective)

Capacity reviews (ensure applications and hardware are correctly sized for sudden increase in business volumes)

Building Power downs

Driving Process Improvements and plant automation

Liaising with the development teams and driving application stability

Working closely with the Integration team on application on boarding and providing specifications for tools needed within the operational space to minimise time taken on manual tasks

As an Application Service Delivery Markets your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

Essential skills:

Demonstrable experience as a support analyst working within an investment banking environment

The ability to calmly assess a problem and to analyse likely causes and possible solutions with an open mind, particularly when working under pressure and to tight deadlines

Sound working knowledge of UNIX/Linux/Windows

Competent SQL skills

Desirable skills:

Working experience of ITRS Geneos or similar monitoring product
