Senior System Tester - Motherwell - 3 Month Contract

*Due to the nature of this role, candidates must have a valid Disclosure Scotland certificate or be prepared to undertake it*

The Senior System Test Analyst is required to work on complex areas of a new system - including annual and weekly billing calculations, development of test matrixes to cover every possible permutation with regard to charging activities, operational status, seasonality of licences, etc. and the implications that each of these have on the agreed phasing elements of the charging scheme.

The Senior System Test Analyst is required to produce detailed Test Plan/Strategy documents that consider the scope of each working module, apply risk based testing where appropriate and ensure full coverage of all test conditions and scenarios that are required to prove each module of the new charging scheme. The Senior System Test Analyst must possess excellent numeracy skills and be capable of root cause analysis before referring items that fall outside of the agreed tolerance levels to the Finance project team. They will be required to work on complex work-streams on their own and to mentor more junior members of the team. The Senior System Test Analyst is also required to design and execute test scripts and to develop test matrixes using complex SQL and Excel spreadsheets to ensure all charging and phasing calculations are correct for a full range of licence and charging activity permutations. A review of the usability of new application elements from business team perspectives will also be required.

Essential Skills:

*Three to five years' experience - preferably with some financial services experience - using VModel and Waterfall methodologies (applicants whose experience is solely with agile methodology will not be considered)

*Static testing of business requirements, functional and technical specifications

*Define test approach and creation of detailed Test Plan/Strategy documents using a Risk Based Testing approach

*Provide detailed estimates for test preparation, specification, execution and completion phases

*Design of test specifications & development of spreadsheets and SQL queries to deliver required test approach

*Identification and creation of suitable test data to fully prove the implementation of the new charging model

*Thorough working knowledge of SQL required to interrogate Oracle tables and views, knowledge of complex joins of differing types also required

*Excellent communication skills when dealing with a technical and non-technical audience

*Thorough working knowledge of using Excel spreadsheets, formulae and macros

*Experience of Quality Center or similar test management tool

*Identification of defects, issues and enhancements and management of these throughout the full life-cycle

*Creation of detailed Test Completion Reports & evidence based recommendations for advancement (or not) to the next life-cycle stage

*System, integration, usability, browser compatibility testing

*Provide support to IS System Testers and members of the UAT Group
