My client is a key supplier of electronic defence systems, including those designed for aircraft protection - which is the focus of their new Campaign Manager position. This role will require the identification of new business opportunities in the 'Rest of World' territory, mainly comprised of the Middle East, India and Europe. Managing internal project teams, regional marketing, external stakeholders and customers, this person will require a strategic approach to sales and a good level of cultural sensitivity to work within such an international environment. There won't be any direct reports for this role, but it will require indirect management of 8-10 people, so leadership skills are also important.

The successful candidate will have:

- Operational experience with an aircraft protection platform

- A proven track record in sales/ marketing/ business development within the defence market

- A good understanding of electronic defence systems (ideally radar, or infrared countermeasure)

- The willingness to travel internationally (up to 2 weeks, every 6 weeks)

- The ability to base themselves from an office in Edinburgh whilst not on travel

- Good customer facing skills

This role would be ideal for an experienced sales person in the defence market, who wants an international remit for an innovative product group. There will be support teams to provide customers with technical details, but an engineering background and 'hands on' experience within aircraft protection is pivotal in providing credibility to customers. Your results will be measured on the number of new campaigns acquired, so a history of developing business (hunting) will be a strong addition to your application.
