What is your job?

In your day to day you will be responsible for managing the testing lifecycle in relation to all IT and Business facing Programmes, Projects and BAU activities. Expanding, developing and implementing testing services and standards. Also to ensure the IT Test & QA team is working effectively and efficiently and to the company values.

The main responsibilities for this role include:

* Responsible for Testing Service Delivery.

* Implement and maintain the Test Strategy.

* Continually review and improve the testing service, processes and standards.

* Manage multiple testing work streams for Global IT and Business Programmes and Projects.

* Define and agree the overall approach to testing for Programmes including IT and Business testing.

* Manage all risks associated with testing and take preventative action when any risks become unacceptable.

* Utilise testing knowledge and experience to provide advice and guidance on any aspect of testing.

* Manage Senior Test Analysts and Test Analysts in the planning, preparation and execution of testing, monitoring workload at all stages.

* Work closely with Management peers from Project Management, Business Analysis, Development and Operations.

The ideal person

The ideal person for this role will be a professional who has experience in managing medium to large tester teams while also being the technical authority for the projects and test cycles.

I don't like lists but it's important to break it down a bit:

* Experience of managing a large test team across multiple locations

* A proven track record of simultaneously delivering testing for large Programmes, Projects and BAU

* Strong awareness of software development life cycles including RUP, V-Model, Agile and Waterfall

* Experience of Prince2 project methodology

* Selection and implementation of tools and processes to support manual and automated testing activities

* Strong knowledge of manual and automated testing frameworks

* Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance with desired testing outcomes

* Excellent written and oral communication skills

* Strong Stakeholder management

* ISEB / ISTQB certification

The following would be fantastic if you have experience in them:

* Experience of running permanent and contract test teams

* Continuous Improvement processes

I hate to ask, but what will I be paid?

With this role they are looking to pay between £45,000 and £55,000 depending on experience, as with any new opportunity it's entirely in your hands to show how good you are to obtain the salary you are looking for. An excellent package is also included with this role.
