Our Client

Our Client is one of the leading groups within the hotel sector, driven and underpinned by the very best technology. They're continually pushing new frontiers in their technological development, whilst presenting a warmer welcome to all their guests.

To help them to enhance and evolve their IT and Telecoms strategy, they are looking to appoint an experienced Service Delivery Manager to strengthen the existing IT team. Based in Edinburgh with regular travel to London, the role presents an exciting opportunity to work in an ever-changing, stretching environment where there is plenty of scope to innovate and bring in new technology.

Reporting directly to the IT Director, the ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on technical expertise, strong leadership skills and exhibit a common-sense, pragmatic approach.

Role responsibilities include:

General Management:

* Manage new IT initiatives and align these with the long-term Group strategy

* Provide operational leadership and structure to the IT team through quality processes and controls

* Manage the successful implementation of all plans and initiatives to ensure compliance with company procedures and industry standards.

* Liaison with stakeholders and hotel staff to ensure continued satisfaction with IT service delivery

People Management:

* Direct and guide the IT team in terms of daily operational activities and achievement of departmental and individual goals

* Ensure the IT team work to the organisation's established values and culture

* Conduct regular team meetings to discuss progress, review issues and provide feedback on performance

* Identify training requirements to ensure the IT team can meet the challenges of a growing and evolving business

Resource Management:

* Establish sensible and practical Service Level Agreements between IT and the business to achieve service objectives and targets.

* Oversee supplier and vendor execution of IT contracts and services to ensure service delivery standards are met.

* Assist IT Director in the development and implementation of business continuity plans.

* Perform full risk management activities in conjunction with the IT Director on all IT projects and operational systems

* Assist in the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) governing IT systems operations and support

* Generation and review of performance-related system reports with the IT Director to gauge technology effectiveness in the business

* Provision of SLA reporting to measure performance against targets

* Implementation of information security policies and procedures to minimise risk to data and protect against potential data breaches

Systems Management:

* Operational management of the organisation's voice and data infrastructure (servers, data network, telephony and PC estate)

* Ensuring the ongoing security of all our servers and systems, particularly around data security in databases & fileservers specifically within a PCI DSS environment

* Ensuring the integrity of all data backups via development of a properly structured backup plan

* Create and maintain best practise system management policies and procedures to keep all systems including PCs and mobile devices in the best health possible

* Implement reliable update policies to ensure proper patch management / system updates

Key Technical Skills:

* Excellent Microsoft Active Directory / Windows Server (2008/2012)

* Excellent understanding of network routing / switching and TCP/IP

* Experience of medium to large data and voice network deployments

* Excellent MS Exchange skills (to advanced level)

* Exposure to VOiP technologies highly desirable

* Excellent understanding of network WAN / LAN, firewall / security technologies

* Good understanding of server technologies and storage area networks

* Good understanding of SQL Server (for backup and administration purposes)

Highly desirable

* Excellent PowerShell scripting

* Good project management experience essential

* Linux and MySQL advantageous but not essential

* PCI DSS experience essential

* Managed Engine Suite experience advantageous but not essential
