Head of Testing- 70K-80K

A client of mine who are leaders in providing Insurance technology solutions are looking for a switched on experienced Test Manager to own the test delivery for projects, including the provision and control of testing processes that are consistent to the organisations test policy and Strategy - thus ensuring the quality and efficiency of testing throughout the Software Development Lifecycle

Key Duties:

Deliver Testing for projects/portfolios to agreed time/budget/quality tolerances as laid down in business case, test strategy, plan and commercial agreement.

Determine the appropriate test approach, methodologies, tools and resourcing liaising with Business, IT function (including 3rd parties) and Clients to ensure cost effective testing and that coverage mitigates business risk.

Create the test deliverables throughout the whole project lifecycle applying best practice

Control the entry and exit criteria to Testing

Provide effective communication across the full Software Development Lifecycle (internal and external) to support and manage the smooth delivery of test activity.

Participate and lead test planning sessions and retrospective reviews and be involved in key initiatives to implement best practices in testing and quality assurance.

Key Skills:

Full understanding of test planning, effort estimation, test scheduling, tracking and reporting

Understanding and supporting the implementation of test maturity models

Good understanding of building test teams and managing their performance Understanding of risk analysis methodologies and their implementation in test

Understanding of the different drivers and needs of customers, distributors and partners

Experience:

Experience in leading test across multiple Development methodologies (V-Model, Agile, RUP, Waterfall, etc.)

Experience in a number of industry recognized test analysis techniques

Working knowledge of test automation, using tools such as QuickTest Pro, Selenium, Ranorex and languages such as C# and Java.

Experience in using a test tool to manage scripting and execution of tests such as Testopia, Quality Center (ALM)

Experience in use of defect management tool such as Bugzilla, Quality Center (ALM)

ISTQB Advanced Test Manager certification or equivalent experience

Relevant Insurance industry knowledge preferred
