IT Administrator - Edinburgh - 3 month contract

Spring Technology is looking for an IT Administrator to fulfil a contract with a Public Sector client in Edinburgh. You will be responsible for advising IT users on systems administration and providing infrastructure and general hardware support throughout the client facilities.

Essential duties:

*Installing, modifying and upgrading hardware to improve system reliability

*Maintaining software applications and infrastructure

*Providing 2nd line support and preventative maintenance advice for staff

*Prioritising queries and requests in the IT support team

*Assisting in other system and peripheral upgrade projects

*Providing advice on the purchasing of new and required equipment and during the negotiation process with suppliers

*Assessing disaster recovery procedures and identifying areas to mitigate risk

*Maintaining a service record of all documentation, completed and future work

Essential skills:

*Networking, Virtual Server and MS Exchange

*Active Directory

*Desktop support

*Windows 7

*Infrastructure management

*Software troubleshooting and support
