Head of Testing

A superb opportunity has arisen for a Head of Testing based in Worcester. This Head of Testing would be joining a technology software provider who provide state of the art technology to their clients.

This Head of Testing would be coming into the business to oversee their testing team which consists of around 7-10 QA Engineers and Tests Analyst who are responsible for manually testing a number of web based Insurance trading applications, this Head of Testing would be responsible for expanding this team by 50% over the next year and introducing more Automation across the team.

As a Head of Testing you would be expected to still have a fairly hands on approach and be familiar with the below as well as leading the entire team responsible for recruitment and strategy. This team are responsible for the following:

* Manual testing of web based insurance application (insurance broker trading platform) and its integration with the core back office software.

* Testing of various commercial insurance products.

* Actively Participated, Lead and contributed to scrum/sprint meetings

* Communicate regularly with BAs, developers and other departments in order to ensure project is developed as per specification and delivered on time, ensuring the team are all working in line with the overall Test strategy.

* Functional testing, Integration testing, Cross browser testing, Regression testing.

* Issue tracking, prioritising testing tasks and enforce the development team to fix issues

* Preparation of test plans and scripts to ensure test coverage of high risk areas prior to testing.

* Using Selenium IDE and different in house automation tools for Regression testing

* Document testing to ensure they are per client requirements

* Client Support: Be available to support clients, BA's and any stakeholder of the projects while Alpha, Beta or remote testing.

This Head of Testing will be leading a team which work with a variety of technologies including; Linux, NUnit, JQuery, Ajax, TomCat and a number of other proprietary tools as well as Java for Automation where they want to achieve a 70% weighting towards Automation Testing with the next couple of years.
