Technology Specialist / Technical Trainer / Product Manager / Technology Specialist / Field Technical Instructor / Instructional Designer and Trainer / Systems Engineer

Leading global software company based in Southampton, Hampshire requires a Technology Specialist / Technical Trainer / Product Manager to join their fast growing team. You will be joining them at exciting times in the midst of a huge new global project. Your main function is to design and develop technical and application training on their products to a variety of audiences in a variety of formats.

Their product suite is very technical and you will be expected to have technical skills along with excellent communication, training and presentation skills. You will be required to build test systems and then write corresponding training guides for them so this really is a hybrid role. Your biggest initial challenge will be to learn the extensive product portfolio so you know it in enough depth to be able to train the trainer and sell the product to an extent. You will ideally have industry experience in telecoms, voice / call recording products.

Training

You will work closely with other major functions in the business including R&D engineers, Support and Installations Engineers, and Product Managers. You will ensure accurate and on-time training materials development and support delivery of technical training courses to both customers and employees. The role will be a mix of Webinar / Online Training, Virtual Classroom Training and Classroom Training and you will be expected to Train the Trainer. They have their own way of building training material however my client are more than happy to take the lead from you in the way training is built if you have a better idea so the role is flexible.

Responsibilities include:-

* Independently leading the development of learning solutions through the training lifecycle including requirements analysis, mapping, design development and delivery

* Develop technical training courses / presentations for customers, partners and employees

* Be the point of contact for this product portfolio knowledge for trainers worldwide

You will lead 1 major (JAN) and 1 minor (JULY) release a year which tend to be delivered virtually - the preparation for these is extensive so no opportunity to get bored. There will also be a few classroom courses per year plus 2 to 4 per year on top of specific training for new releases.

Technical

Real life experience of one or more of the following:-

* MS Windows Operating Systems 2008 upwards

* MS SQL Server 2008 and above

* Fixed and Wireless telecommunications

* Virtualisation - VMWare or Hyper V

* Build, Install, upgrade and maintain training systems

* Background in the nuts & bolts of infrastructure & building servers

As you can see this is a very diverse role and you require a real mix of skills, you would typically have experience in at least one of the following fields:- Trainer, Product Support (Telecoms), Technical Author, Pre-sales analyst, Instructional Designer, Software or Field Engineer or experience in a technical training development or delivery.
