Skills and Responsibilities:

* Managing the Programme Management office to ensure that the Programme Leads and key senior stakeholders are provided with timely, forward looking management information and advise to inform management decisions

* Planning including preparing and maintaining overall programme milestone plan, critical path and interdependencies schedule, supporting and challenging project level plans and providing guidance and approaches to ensure consistency and coherency across all planning efforts

* Operate an effective configuration management process for documentation

* Dependency Management; Operate and control dependency log, tracking significant internal and external dependencies for the programme

* Managing of risk and issues including maintaining overall risk and issue logs, proactive facilitation of mitigation/ resolution processes, ensuring ownership of risks/ issues and management of change control process

* Preparing regular progress reports for overall programme tracking based on a common core of information provided by programme teams. Assisting the Programme teams in moving to consistent based reporting and facilitation of issue resolution and risk management actions at workstream level

* Developing, documenting, rolling-out and continually improving Programme Management processes and standards and tools incorporating feedback from the programme teams and key stakeholders

* Supporting resource management including preparation/ management of resource plan, recruitment/ selection process, on boarding/ induction and people management plan

* Leading the preparation of reports and papers for governance bodies and forums and signing of the final draft for the Programme Manager

* Establish the programme and project profiles and manage finances in accordance with industry best practice

* Provide ad-hoc support to the programme managers and project managers as appropriate

Person Profile

* Experience of managing a medium to large PMO, preferably with programme level PMO experience (incl. Prince2 and MSP)

* Experience of working on a large scale programme with a complex network of stakeholders

* Strong interpersonal and people management skills, personal impact and self-awareness, assertiveness, influencing and negotiating skills

* Knowledge and experience of IT infrastructure desirable
