IT Project Manager

I am currently working with a leading UK logistics business who are looking to recruit a number of IT project managers for 6 month contracts based in central London. The main duties of the role will be:

* End to end accountability for project delivery. Managing the project delivery process, ensuring that selected suppliers deliver; acquiring & utilising the necessary resources & skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality.

* Accountable for execution of the project management process to ensure delivery, in line with policies and methods including project control, risk management, change management, issue resolution, progress reporting, project documentation & administration, and quality reviews

* Management of suppliers from the approved panel, to deliver the specified requirements within policies & methods; including due diligence on supplier capabilities relative to requirements

* Provision of accurate project costing, including supplier quotes & tenders, required as input to the Business Case

* Managing suppliers and project team to deliver the project within the Business Case, to the required time, cost & quality

* Facilitating testing signoff by users, and transitioning into on-going service; project closure

* Plan and monitor the project; agree plans with the Sponsors / Steering Board and submit regular status reports indicating any deviations from plan at either stage or project level and any corrective action taken

* Responsible for overall progress & use of resources. Initiate corrective action when necessary. Manage risks & contingency, escalating major risks & proposing possible solutions to Business Partners and Programme managers where necessary

* Manage project scope and change control and escalate issues where necessary

* Co-ordinate communication as agreed in the Communication Plan

Ideally candidates will have experience with integration and implementation projects with both applications and infrastructure; as well as the following skills:

* Proven track record of leading and managing projects

* Stakeholder and project lifecycle (end to end) experience is required,

* Ideal candidate will be able to stand by their convictions within decision making.

* History of developing and maintaining internal partner relationships, with sound understanding of working with 3rd parties

* Appreciation of how all the architecture, policies and governance are applied to delivery of the project

* A direct, straightforward style, able to cut to the core quickly

* Being Prince2 foundation or APM equivalent certified is essential
