My client, a major telecoms company, is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their site in London as soon as possible. The role holder will need to manage the critical deployment of the clients Data Centre LAN work stream and the overall deployment of LAN at the clients branch and office network.

The Data Centre LAN has been contracted separately as a critical time dependant requirement. This will involve deploying LAN infrastructure in two new UK data centres as part of a new bank platform delivery. Delays to this will delay the bank being able to stand up their banking platform and applications.

The branch network and office estate comprise around 600 locations in the UK which will need LAN infrastructure delivering based on varying design patterns for complexity and size of site (from a standard branch to a HQ office).

The role will be supported by a further PM to share the workload. This role however will have overall accountability for the delivery of these two work streams.

Reporting to the overall Transformation Manager, the role will need to develop detailed plans, changing where necessary, to meet the clients requirements. Their environment is subject to changing needs and time pressures due to the broader ICT programme and this role will need to liaise directly with the client to agree and discuss this on an on-going basis.

Formalising the plans with the client, agreeing testing schedules in conjunction with the testing team, and ensuring this fits into the broader scope of our clients service delivery with the other PM's and the overall Transformation Manager will be a key responsibility of this role. As the LAN environments are deployed the role will also be accountable for interfacing into the service environment to ensure they have the necessary information and detail to stand up the service on the agreed date with the correct knowledge and inventory detail.

The role holder will need to have experience in similar deployments and the LAN/DC LAN environment, as well as being able to work closely with the TDA to ensure all the necessary design and implementation considerations are planned holistically, flagging issues in the technical deployment which will impact customer timelines. They will need to liaise directly with the appropriate stakeholders in the client to manage the deployment and feedback changes/issues via the Transformation Manager such that knock on impacts to other work streams can be considered.
