URGENT- Digital Project Manager -12 Month TEMP - LONDON BASED

Role: Digital News Initiative Project Manager Location: London Duration: 12 months The Digital News Initiative is a collaboration between news publishers in Europe and our client to promote innovation in journalism. Through on going cooperation between tech and journalism industries we hope to promote a more sustainable news industry. Within the DNI there are three areas we work with the news industry: - product development - training and research - innovation Role overview: As the DNI project manager your main responsibility will be the DNI website and you will mainly be concerned with the innovation part of the DNI. You will work with successful applicants to the innovation fund to best showcase their projects and the work the DNI is doing throughout Europe. A strong self starter, you will utilise your experience in the news industry to highlight possible opportunities to showcase the DNI in Europe. You may be asked to assist on other editorial projects runs with publishers. Responsibilities: - Identify: develop a comprehensive strategy to best showcase the work the Digital News Initiative is doing in Europe. - Educate and Inspire: demonstrate to key journalists and publishers how technology can help empower journalism. - Amplify: work with marketing and PR to promote any magic moments to a broader audience - Measure: track success of all efforts through both internal and external measurement tools Minimum Qualifications: - Experience in journalism and a thorough understanding of the news industry - Exceptional writing skills - Video production experience - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - A highly entrepreneurial mindset: this role will require a unique level of problem solving - A self-starter who can use initiative and take a 'hands-on' approach - Proven ability to juggle and track multiple projects and stakeholders in very fast moving environment - An editorial eye and good sense of story: will need to work with partners to brainstorm creative use cases of the DNI innovation fund. - Good sense of what makes a news story and good contacts in the news industry Preferred Qualifications: - Additional languages preferred but not essential
