Role: Client Services SME - Service Governance Engagement / Portfolio Manager

Salary: Up to £55,000

Location: Birmingham

Your role:

You will be working with internal operation managers to ensure effective oversight and alignment internally of vendor relationships. You will be project managing, reviewing risk, change management and monitoring escalation issues. You will ensure coordination across operations and control functions to effectively address vendor issues and changes.

Your responsibilities:

* Acting as the primary interface for the Service Governance function

* A member of the Function Management team, building strong relationships, reporting on all aspects of the Service Governance services and maintaining communication channels

* Working with the Function Services Owner, to agree the Service Governance strategy across the portfolio to which they are assigned, developing knowledge and understanding the portfolio to add value to the overall services strategy.

* Performing due diligence activity to identify all contracts within their portfolio and determining the most appropriate service governance offering for each contract

* Ensuring that all incoming projects are catalogued and prioritised

* Setting up the governance standards for complex contracts

* Providing operational governance, utilising the Subject Matter Experts both within and outside of the Service Governance team

* Delivering benefits and cost savings across the portfolio

Skills and Qualifications:

* Significant experience in vendor and contract management

* Strong domain and product/service knowledge in one or more technical area within end user technology/ production services e.g. cloud computing, data, telecoms, communications etc.

* Significant experience managing large-scale, complex outsourcing contracts

* Successful, multi-year track record in a vendor management organisation

* Experience working in the financial services/management industry

* Excellent strategic agility, critical thinking, influencing and relationship management skills

* Strong business planning, problem solving, financial management, communication and presentation skills

* High energy, with the ability to work in a fast-paced business environment

* Proven experience in identifying and delivering process improvement projects, in a complex operating environment using strong relationship building skills
