Capital & Impairment Manager

Salary to £52,000 plus benefits, bonus and car allowance

Real Staffing is working with our client to assist them in the recruitment of an additional Capital and Impairment Actuals Analysis and Reporting Manager for their base in Edinburgh.

In this role you will be responsible for the analysis and the reporting of C&I actuals for their Business Banking products whilst leading a team of analysts.

The primary purpose of the role is to ensure the accurate and timely production of monthly capital and impairment results within their governance framework and policies. This highly visible role is accountable to an extensive list of senior stakeholders and requires a high standard of technical and presentational skills.

Key Accountabilities

* Production of monthly Business Banking Capital and Impairment results, including variance and trend analysis and business interpretation.

* Manage production of insightful and timely management information to inform Senior Management and, where applicable, help drive corrective action by working closely with a group of senior stakeholders across Risk, Finance and Governance

* Oversight of capital (IRB and STD) and impairment models and processes, and calculation of post model adjustments where required, ensuring that the business complies with credit-risk related statutory and regulatory requirements

* Ensure integrity of capital and impairment calculations and strong controls on processes in line with standards and policies

* Day-to-day management and development of a team of analysts, providing expert guidance (e.g. design of analysis, problem solving techniques, SAS / Excel programming, MI automation)

* Contribute to the wider Capital & Impairment team through best practice sharing and collaborate to achieve success for the wider team

* Provide support for key projects with subject matter expertise - in the short term this includes the IFRS9 implementation project as well as migration and integration activities with Group
