Java Developer

Java Developer, salary negotiable depending on experience, Edinburgh.

My client is recruiting a highly experience Java Developer. The successful candidate will be joining a smart, highly-capable team in an environment that encourages learning by sharing knowledge and experience. As a Java Developer you'll be passionate about doing software engineering right and providing great solutions to our clients.

This role is hands on, client facing, offering an opportunity to be involved in a full development lifecycle.

Essential Skills:

*Commercial Java experience, preferably in enterprise-scale applications

*Solid technical design skills including OO design principles and design patterns

*Minimum 2:1 degree in relevant area

*Experience with Agile development methods

*The ability to adapt and learn new technologies on the job

Desirable Skills:

*Knowledgeable of building scalable server-side applications on the JVM, e.g. Rest, Spring, SQl/NoSQL, microservices, concurrency and messaging paradigms

* Experience of HTML5 development and JavaScript

*Exposure to the full software development lifecycle

*Previous experience in a consultancy

*Involvement in open source projects.
