Job Title - Analytics Engineer (Spark/R/Python/Matlab)

Location - Central London

Salary - £55,000 - £65,000 per annum + excellent benefits

My client is going through a large scale data platform implementation. This position offers a great opportunity for an experienced Analytics Engineer to take up a hands on role to assist in the design and development of new analytics and modelling solutions that will be produced for the new platform. Involved from initial shaping to delivery in to the live environment this role lies within the Data Analytics and Modelling technical delivery and maintenance team.

Job Responsibilities

*Use in depth knowledge of analytics technologies to offer a wide range of analytics solutions.

*Develop and support high quality analytics solutions to support the organisation.

*Act as a point of advice to analysts who are in the process of and aiming towards creating their own analysis.

*Facilitate workshops with the analysts in order to help them learn how to exploit the self-service technologies they will be offered.

*Be involved in the training of developers to use new technologies coming in to the organisation.

*Be expected to exploit a range of data analytics and modelling technologies to deliver solutions.

Essential Skills

*Experience within a commercial environment of developing and maintaining solutions in at least two of the following Spark, R, Python, Matlab, Distributed Architectures.

*Experience of full SDLC.

*Strong customer focus with the ability to manage relationships with customers, understand requirements and expectations and convert these into technical deliverables.

*Proven record of delivering major change within a project management methodology.

*The ability to articulate business value regarding potential new subjects or technologies.

*Experience in performance tuning and refining solutions.

*Experience of Hadoop, Hive, Hawq, Attivio, Zaloni or Blue Talon would be advantageous.

*Experience of developing solutions based on the MS BI Stack (SQL Server, SSAS and SSIS) would be advantageous.
