Chief Engineer / Engineering Manager
Rate: Up to £500 per day
Glasgow
Purpose of Role:
Reporting to the Group Operations Director, you will be accountable for achieving all relevant Engineering KPI's, day to day management of engineering team and departmental budgets. You will also be responsible for all group engineering and group capital projects and oversee the engineering function at two of my clients food production sites.
Key Critical Factors of the role:
1 Totally responsible for the group engineering function
2 Achieve all relevant engineering KPIs
3 Day to day management of engineering department and engineers at Glasgow site
4 Responsible for the management of the engineering budget
5 Ability to identify and carryout engineering projects which achieve objectives of the business
6 Objectively assess engineering team's performance and develop improvement plans
7 Support group continuous improvement programmes
8 Actively encourage, organise and apply lean techniques and processes
9 Ensure effective response to PPM and breakdown repair work
10 Total management of all capital projects across all 3 production sites
11 Development of group engineering strategy
12 Responsible for Health & Safety at Glasgow site.
You will have a proven track record of managing large teams within a food or similar FMCG manufacturing environment. Also you will have sound knowledge of continuous improvement, cost control, budgets, health & safety and management of quality systems, as well as a broader view of effective resource planning for the immediate, medium-term and long-term. The ideal candidate will also have proven project management experience, managing large capital projects.

Engineering Manager/Deputy
Require:
* Knowledge of all tiers of training
* Knowledge of the principles of metal detection
* An in depth understanding of the specification of the equipment concerned and the full scope of how it operates.
* Full understanding of the Marks and Spencer COP requirements
* New product set-up including how to optimise detection sensitivities
Qualifications:
1 Ideally an engineering degree and a chartered engineer status - minimum of HND level in a relevant engineering qualification
2 Relevant project management qualification
3 Health and Safety qualification
