Head of IT Operations

Would you like to be given the opportunity to work with one of the biggest shipbuilders in the UK? We currently have a vacancy for a Head of IT Operations at our site in Scotstoun.

As a Head of IT Operations, you will be working on cutting edge products on large and complex projects with a high volume of staff, over multiple sites.

This role oversees the delivery of the IM&T strategy with successful IM&T programmes that will help and support the business to achieve its objectives. The successful candidate will have the chance to shape the future of the IM&T department going forward.

Your main responsibilities as a Head of IT Operations will involve:

Managing the programme of work autonomously to achieve the defined IM&T strategy for Naval Ships

Ensure

-Achieving compliance with the Operational Framework for all of Naval Ships

-Ensuring that the IM&T programme delivery is managed in accordance with the customer and business needs,

-Coordinating with all functions, alongside all internal and external stakeholders and IT providers

-Providing IM&T advice and guidance as required by the executives and their teams

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential

-Expert in the management of major IM&T projects, IM&T Governance within a commercial environment and familiar with manufacturing processes best practice

-Ability to provide clear direction in a highly complex environment

-Experience of information security and risk management

-Involvement with both IT and Business Change project delivery

Desirable

-Previous team management and leadership experience

-Demonstrable experience of delivering full lifecycle projects of a budget of £5m or greater

-Knowledge of governance frameworks and best practice - (COBIT, ISF, ITIL)

-Prince2 Practitioner, ISEB and/or MSP certification preferable

The successful candidate will have the ability to engage with the business effectively, as well as identifying solutions and opportunities for innovation. You will be driven, delivery focused and willing to be 'hands-on' with strong leadership, negotiation and influencing skills.

Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 per annum
