A superb opportunity to work for a successful live event ticketing software company, providing software, services and consultancy to festivals and venues around the world.

They are the ticketing solution that drives the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (the largest arts festival in the world), the Garden of Unearthly Delights in Adelaide and the National Arts Festival of South Africa as well as other UK and international events.

This company now seeks to appoint a Front end Web Developer to work closely with the UX Designer and Lead Developer during a busy phase of development, rapidly adding features to their industry-leading box office solution.

Bringing experience from multiple platforms and projects, you'll be instrumental in shaping the front end technology choices they make as they transition to a new interface for their Java- based desktop client. They are also investing in their mobile and web products, putting real-time information and ticket sales capabilities into the hands of their clients and customers around the world, so you'll need to be versatile in your approach and confident working in an Agile environment.

The salary for this role may be increased above the advertised level if the candidate can demonstrate a strong working knowledge of visual design and UX.

Responsibilities of the post include:

- Building web components as part of a new interface for their desktop client

- Client-focused web development work including transactional websites

- In-house web projects such as improvements to their reporting platforms

- Work closely with the Product Owner, UX Designer and wider development team on product delivery

- Deliver high quality work in a fast-paced, Agile development environment

- Work creatively whilst bringing a common design and style to all of their products.

Essential skills:

- Experience building business apps in HTML5

- A great portfolio of previous work demonstrating your skills

- Confidence working across Javascript frameworks and communicating their relative strengths and weaknesses

- Knowledge of json, REST and real-time APIs

- Experience working as part of an Agile development team

- Experience working with a UX Designer to build web products from wireframes

- A confident communicator who can advocate for technology choices

- Great attention to detail

- Ability to write clean, concise and maintainable code

- A relevant degree in computer science, web design, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred additional skills and experience:

- Experience with PHP or working in a LAMP-stack environment

- Experience building desktop and native mobile apps for business applications

- Experience with Swing GUI Builder (Matisse) would set you apart

- Experience with version control (they use SVN)

- A strong working knowledge of visual design and UX

- Experience working with automated testing tools and interfacing with a testing team
