UNIX DevOps / Systems Reliability Engineer (UNIX Linux OOP C / C++). Global, technology driven financial services institution is seeking a technologist DevOps Engineer with a broad range of technical knowledge and Object Orientated Programming skills to work on enterprise scale, critical services; ensuring fast, highly available, efficient, scalable systems that can cope with unprecedented increases in load.

As a senior UNIX DevOps / Systems Reliability Engineer you'll be working on production systems with scope from the kernel through to the application; you'll build automation tools for system health, production acceptance tests to validate production changes and will ensure the system is well instrumented and highly fault tolerant. You'll drive capacity planning and performance analysis as well as diving into troubleshooting and resolving any unexpected or potential service problems, including writing the software to prevent the same problem happening again.

Requirements:

*Strong experience of working with fault tolerant approaches in a large scale distributed environment and high performance systems

*Indepth knowledge of UNIX / Linux

*Experience with scalable, low-latency systems

*Good understanding of Data Structures and Software Architecture

*Able to code with any OO language (C / C++, Java preferred)

*Strong scripting skills

*A passion for performance excellence, robustness and an engineering mind-set

*Strong analysis and problem solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail

*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

*Degree educated, Computer Science preferred

*Experience with Splunk is desirable
