Enigma People Solutions is exclusively recruiting a Hardware Engineer for our market leading and globally recognised client based in Livingston. They require an experienced Hardware Development Engineer for their team.
Reporting to the Hardware Group Leader you will be responsible for the development of electronics for use in a range of next generation machine monitoring products, and supporting the existing machine monitoring product range, including defect investigation and ongoing product improvement. This role will suit a self motivated candidate with an emphasis on meeting project timescales and product quality.

Custom instrumentation for segments within Wind, Steel and Rail industries including
FFT Data Collectors
Shaft Laser Alignment Systems
Intrinsically Safe Devices
Tasks:
Hardware design tasks as defined by the Project Manager
Managing PCB layout for electronic design
Holding design reviews for electronic designs
Developing and running design verification and validation tests for hardware
Delivery of approved hardware design information to suppliers via company approved processes and systems
Logging defects according to company procedures
Reproducing, diagnosing and resolving reported defects
Evaluation of new technologies/tools for improving productivity, enhancing products or creating new sales opportunities
Developing smart/innovative solutions to give the business edge in the market place
Driving/creating/approving technical solutions to fit the business needs/customer requirements
Customer, supplier and manufacturer interfacing during the course of the development
To follow management instructions and procedures; to report Environment Health and Safety (EHS) risks and EHS related incidents; to follow quality specifications and requirements, and identify quality risks and opportunities for improvement.
Travel may be required to support project activities
To be of interest you will be able to demonstrate:
Necessary
Good experience with schematic capture
Good experience with PCB layout
Good experience of transfer to manufacture and external testing/certification
Able to work in a team, but with minimal direct supervision
Able to follow established working practices / standards
Desirable
Full product lifecycle experience
Familiarity with low power electronics
Experience of wireless communications
Experience of external testing and certification
Benefits package includes:
Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday to Friday) Flexi scheme in operation
Holidays: 25 days annual leave rising to 26 after completing one full calendar year then rising to 28 days after 5 years service
Pension: Defined Contribution pension scheme, Employer contributions are 10% on joining employees don't need to contribute but if they do this is on a salary exchange arrangement
Bonus: Non contractual bonus arrangement of up to 10% of the basic salary.
