Vetting Officer

Background of the role:

This role requires an individual or interviewer with strong interpersonal skills and a desire to join a busy investigation team. You will be joining a friendly and lively team and dealing with a varied and challenging workload.

Carrying out interviews with new recruits. Each interview is highly detailed going into everything from their family relationships to social life, their financial affairs to their sexual preferences. All the time looking for discrepancies or possible risks without making judgements, Then you will report your findings flagging anything significant.

Need to have the character to put people from a range of backgrounds at ease, gain their confidence and get them to talk openly about all aspects of their lives, They will be dealing with people who may be defensive, angry and in some cases listening to genuinely upsetting stories.

Duties and responsibility

* Provide an interviewing and assessment service.

* Plan and carry out interviews with referees.

* Interviewing referees of potential recruits (including secondments, attachment, contractor and consultants)

* On basis of these interviews, produce evidenced recommendations.

* Working with autonomy, taking full responsibility for the delivery of casework deadlines.
