Senior Estimator - HS2 Heavy Civil Engineering Works - Central Birmingham

My client is a main civil engineering contractor who works nationally on mixed heavy civil engineering schemes including highways, earthworks, energy & rail projects. Due to an increase in workload, they are looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join the team in their Birmingham office. The successful Senior Estimator will have extensive experience of pricing civil engineering projects from 1st principles, and will have a history of working for main contractors in the civil engineering field. This is an opportunity to work on potentially the largest infrastructure scheme the UK has ever seen.

Projects:

* HS2 - heavy civil engineering & infrastructure work packages

Key Requirements:

* 5 + years civil engineering estimating experience

* Relevant civil engineering site experience or qualifications

* Ability to estimate from 1st principles

* Comfortable when working individually

* Strong communication skills

* Proficient in a form of estimating software

* Full UK driving license

* UK citizenship - essential

Responsibilities:

* Logging tenders

* Understand & maintain tender documents

* Produce bills of quantities

* Quantity take-offs

* Conduct various tender meetings

* Attend site visits when needed

* Liaise with project stakeholders & prepare analytical & accurate estimates

Remuneration:

* Up to £76,000 basic salary

* Bonus up to 20% of basic salary

* Car/allowance

* Pension

* Life assurance

* 25 days annual leave
