IT Support Technician - 4+ month - Edinburgh - ASAP
An excellent opportunity to join an established and renowned membership organisation in Edinburgh as an IT Support Technician on an initial 4 month contract.
Reporting to the IT Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for network and infrastructure management; information system and database management; technical and audio-visual support and office administration. As part of this role, the tasks and projects offer variety and require a positive and proactive approach to workload.
The main duties of the role are as below:
* Providing desktop and server support - Windows OS/Mac OSX, Windows Server 2008/2008R2/2012/2012R2
* Call queue management
* System troubleshooting/diagnosis
* Support application faults
* Maintain asset database
* Create and maintain end user application and systems end user documentation
* Create, setup and modify users within Active Directory
* Create, manage and maintain PC operating system deployments, Windows updates and Application deployment via SCCM 2012
* Management and administration of Group Policy
* Provide network support when necessary - troubleshooting, configuring and monitoring.
* Manage users on Mitel IP phone system
* Provide new start inductions on IT systems and applications.
The skills required for the role are as below:
* Microsoft Windows 7 / 1, 10, Office 2010 / 2013 / 2016, Apple OSX
* Knowledge of Mobile operating systems (Android, iOS, Windows)
* Windows Server 2008/2008 R2/2012/2012 R2
* SCCM 2012 R2
* Microsoft SQL
* Microsoft Hyper-V
* MS Exchange
* Active Directory
* Basic working knowledge of networks
* Understanding of DHCP/DNS
* Understanding of NTFS permissions
* Understanding of Group Policy
