Cassandra DBA - UNIX - NoSQL - - North London

My client has an urgent contract requirement for an experienced Cassandra DBA to join to join a high performing project team on an initial 6 month contract. The team is geared towards research, design and maintenance of database services, builds and tools to enable the effective deployment and management of all Databases. This includes both relational and NoSQL database technologies on both onsite and cloud based infrastructures.

Key skills & experience:

* Demonstrable experience of full administration of enterprise Cassandra clusters (ideally DataStax Enterprise)

* Demonstrable awareness of industry and market developments

* Comfortable adapting to change and learning quickly in a fast-paced environment

* Experience/understanding of supporting a 24x7 operation

* Good experience of Unix Scripting

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Passion for open source technologies

Desirable

* Knowledge of OpenStack and DBaaS

* Knowledge of Ceph storage

* Python scripting
