DevOps/Cloud Lead

My client are recruiting for a DevOps/Cloud Lead to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Linux System Administrator or DevOps engineer to take on an enhanced role with senior responsibilities. Having spoken with the hiring CTO, it's clear there are huge plans on the horizon and this is a business critical role.

What will the role involve?

As technical lead, you will be responsible for the management of the cloud operations team, ensuring that expert support is provided on business critical projects.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers and project managers during key projects, providing expert advice in the development of scalable solutions.

You will be responsible for the most senior escalations, acting as a subject matter expert and ensuring swift resolution of any incidents.

As well as the above, you will be expected to expand and strengthen existing cloud automation tools, improving functionality. There will be a significant amount of change management, heavily focused on cloud automation which will aid a culture of innovation and experimentation within the entire company.

What experience do I need?

* Strong knowledge of AWS

* Linux and Unix Administration experience (CentOS and Solaris)

* SQL and PL/SQL knowledge

* Open source tools including Apache, Tomcat and JBoss

* Experience of working in an Agile environment with development teams

* Python, Bash or relevant scripting knowledge

* Knowledge of Chef, Puppet or Ansible
