Scope of the role

The Business Analyst is tasked with helping the business meet its objectives and goals. Collaborating with business partners and IT functions they will develop an understanding of how work is conducted and through analysis be able to determine solutions to address issues.

As an IT Business Analyst your main responsibilities will involve:

* Estimation and planning of the requirements analysis tasks

* Being the interface between business and technical stakeholders

* Assist senior stakeholders with business case development and rationale to ensure alignment with strategy (may require support from Lead BA and/or Team Manager)

* Responsible for delivery of the High Level Requirements (HLR) document

* Responsible for delivery of the Business Requirements Document (BRD) and maintaining the Requirements Catalogue

* Taking ownership of the requirements throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), providing input to other project deliverables and controls such as the Logical Architecture Document (LAD), the Solutions Design Document (SDD) and Project RAID log.

* Actively assisting the Vendor Selection process where applicable.

* Responsible for delivery of the Business Functional Specification (BFS)

* Ensuring best practice methods and governance processes are employed

* When working on an Agile project delivery, the BA is an integral member of the development team to ensure that the business requirements, related benefits, and acceptance criteria are fully understood by all.

As an IT Business Analyst your skills and experience will include:

* Proven experience in an IT Business Analyst role

* Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) at all levels with the ability to influence and motivate others

* Good interpersonal and consultative skills

* Ability to write unambiguous, verified requirements to a testable level (Functional and Non-Functional)

* Writing requirements using appropriate approaches such as use cases, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, entity relationship diagrams, etc.

* Detail oriented and committed to a high degree of accuracy

* Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships

* Strong analytical skills and problem solving ability

* Highly competent in presentation and facilitation skills

* Ability to conduct requirements workshops, interviews and to apply a variety of elicitation techniques accordingly

* Process modelling analysis and notation (As-is, To-be, workflows, user journeys using UML, BPMN, etc.)

* Knowledge of SDLC and experience of different software delivery methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.

* Experience in SCRUM, writing User Stories, BDD
