IT Support (Primarily Unix and Linux based) - Physics Degree Desirable

An IT Support Specialist is being sought by this small high frequency trading hedge fund to provide IT support to their trading platforms (primarily based Unix / Linux based) and reconcile their trading positions at the end of the day.

ABOUT THE COMPANY / ROLE - IT Support (Primarily Unix and Linux based) Specialist - small hedge fund

This is a small company, where you'll be supported in your role and be given lots of responsibility, for everything from supporting their traders by problem solving IT issues in a live trading environment to being the point of liaison and contact with the exchanges (including setting up trading gateways).

There is also an element of project management within the IT Support role as you will be required to project manage the IT providers and follow up with FX banks and exchanges.

For the IT Support role you will have the The following skills:

* Experience in IT Support

* Basic Shell scripting

* Familiar with latency related constraints

* Have Linux experience

* Excellent networking skills: TCP/IP, UDP, LAN, switches, global networks.
